The Via Verde: an easy walking path from Moltrasio to Laglio

The Via Verde is a scenic and easy walking path on the western shore of Lake Como, connecting Moltrasio to Laglio. The route begins in Tosnacco, a historic hamlet of Moltrasio, and offers a quiet alternative to the main road, allowing walkers to experience the lake through villages, green hillsides, and panoramic viewpoints.

Rather than following the lakefront, the Via Verde runs slightly above the water, passing through residential lanes and historic paths, with frequent open views over Lake Como. The final section of the walk passes directly in front of Ama’Ca Dulza, just 300 steps before the route reaches its end in Laglio — making the apartment a natural and convenient stopping point along the trail.

The full route is approximately 6 kilometres long and typically takes around 2 to 2.5 hours to complete at a relaxed pace. It can be walked in either direction and is suitable for shorter sections as well.

The Via Verde is considered an easy walk, accessible to most travellers with a basic level of fitness. The terrain consists of paved roads and well-maintained stone paths, with gentle elevation changes and no technical difficulties. Ending in Laglio, the route blends seamlessly into village life, reinforcing the area’s appeal for slow travel, light hiking, and guests looking to explore Lake Como on foot while staying in a quiet, authentic setting.
